CONCERT ENSEMBLES

Concert Ensemble participation for wind/percussion students runs concurrently with marching band, however, there are no after school concert band rehearsals until after marching season is over.

This is the top ensemble at Armwood High School, students in this ensemble have advance music ability level and must audition into this ensemble. Students in this ensemble performs in semester concerts, honor bands, district & state music performance assessments, and solo & ensemble. Students in this class who play brass or woodwind must enroll in Band 5 & 6 after meeting with the director of bands, if you play percussion then you must enroll in Instrumental Techniques Period 6. This ensemble rehearses after school on Thursdays 3:35 pm - 7:30 pm.

4:00 PM - 6:00 PM - REHEARSAL TIME

Students are to be doing the following:

- Focused and ready to have productive rehearsal

Sectionals & Masterclass Wednesdays:

These will be announced in 2 weeks in advance, and they are for a grade.

Sectionals are used so that a section can work on specific musical, marching visual, or fundamental task that needs special attention, that has been mentioned by either staff, judges, director or other leadership. 

Masterclasses are used to work on large fundamental concepts in your child's playing. Typically, we will bring in someone who specializes on that instrument to give the students a deeper understanding of their instrument. (These will occur either once a month or once a semester depending)

This is the second ensemble at Armwood High School, students in this ensemble range from beginner ability level to advanced. Students in this ensemble performs in semester concerts, district & state music performance assessments, and solo & ensemble. Students in this class who play brass or woodwind must enroll in Band 1 - 4 if you play percussion then you must enroll in Instrumental Techniques Period 6. This ensemble rehearses after school Tuesdays 4:00 pm - 6:30 pm.

Percussionist must enroll in Instrumental Techniques 1 - 6. This ensemble does not meet after school but will if needed.

Students in this ensemble range from beginner ability level to advanced. Students in this ensemble will learn the basics of jazz and performs in semester concerts, district & state music performance assessments, and solo & ensemble. This ensemble meets after school on Wednesdays 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm auditions will take place after the marching season ends.
